Memorandum of Understanding between UM and YRU
Leaders from Yala Rajabhat University (YRU) Thailand, Prof. Dr. Sombat Yotathip accompanied by the members visited the State University of Malang (UM) on Monday, May 25th, 2015. The purpose of this visit in the context of the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UM and YRU. The MoU signing ceremony was held in the Meeting Room of the Rector, Building A1 Floor 2 UM at 09.00 pm.
UM Rector Prof. Dr. AH. Rofi'uddin, M.Pd., who was accompanied by the Vice-Rector and faculty leaders attended the event. In his speech UM Rector expressed his appreciation to YRU, which comes in efforts to develop human resources. Previously, UM has come in YRU Thailand to discuss the draft MoU, and after formulating the agreement, now UM and YRU will work together in student exchange programs, faculty, and research program development.
Prof. Dr. Sombat Yotathip, also provide a reason why it should be UM, which was chosen as a partner. In East Java there are two State Universities (PTN), which is the YRU partners, one of which is UM. According to UM and YRU, has a mission that is aligned, so that it is behind the cooperation of both campuses
State University of Malang (UM) has long come to develop human resources, at the national and international arena. Educational climate at the UM campus is also very conducive, so many learners who refers to UM as a place of education. By designing a good learning system, and a variety of learning facilities that facilitate academic community in taking learning.
Yala Rajabhat University is a university in southern Thailand. The university has four faculties namely Faculty of Education, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Management, Faculty of Technology and Science and Agriculture.
Furthermore, this cooperation is expected to strengthen ties between Indonesia and Thailand. Among the programs discussed cooperation after the signing ceremony are, YRU student participation in Darmasiswa Scholarship program, student exchange, faculty exchange and research collaboration. (Har)
