LP2M (Institute for Research and Community Service) or LPPM is a university institution responsible for managing, monitoring, and developing research and community service activities. LP2M focuses on the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, external partner collaborations, and solutions to social issues through study centers.

The Technical Implementation Unit for Scientific Publications of Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) is a technical implementation unit responsible for managing, facilitating, and enhancing the quality and quantity of scientific publications within UM. This unit provides various services for both lecturers and students to support an excellent research ecosystem.

Innovation & Intellectual Property Rights

HKI UM stands for Intellectual Property Rights of Universitas Negeri Malang. This unit is responsible for managing, protecting, and facilitating the registration of intellectual property rights—such as copyrights, patents, and trademarks—for the university’s academic community.

Community Service Programs

Community service programs at Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) are managed by LPPM UM with a focus on empowerment through the application of science, technology, and education. These programs include training for MSMEs, village assistance, environmental/literacy education, and partnerships with villages/correctional facilities. Through 10 community service centers, UM focuses on sustainable impact.
