Poor. State University of Malang (UM) continues to carry out the construction and renovation of facilities and infrastructure in several spots on the main campus locations to support facilities for the entire UM academic community. The biggest project currently is the renovation of the main gate of Jl. Semarang and UM roundabout garden tower. The project implementation period is 110 days from 9 September to 27 December 2019.

This renovation, explained the Head of the UM Procurement Service Unit (ULP), had been planned in advance, given the shortcomings of the main gate jl. Semarang, among others, is the height of the gate that cannot be passed by large vehicles. This is important to do, because MUs often get visits with groups driving large vehicles and the anticipation of fires is also one of the reasons, so that later fire engines can easily pass through the main gate. In addition, the renovation of the UM roundabout garden landscape was carried out to create a UM icon that adjusted to the splendor of the Graha Rectorate building.

"Later, if we look from the front, the splendor of the Graha Rectorate building will be balanced with the magnificent gate of Jl. Semarang and UM towers in a roundabout garden landscape. So, it will form the right, beautiful and magnificent mix to become the main spot of our campus. So a visit from anywhere can take photos at the UM roundabout tower and park with the background of the Graha Rectorate building for a memento, "said Nur Yasin, S.Pd., as the chairman of ULP UM.

The design plan for the UM tower to be built has a UM logo icon in the shape of a circle without any writing Malang State University because the name has been posted on the signboard just east of the UM tower. Close to the tower, fountains and lights were built to add to its beauty. The condition of the park is also beautified so that it can become a tourist park for anyone who visits, students, guests and residents around UM.

"The design of the main gate, tower, and park landscape of the UM roundabout is made in such a way that it can be accepted today and in the future. From the design, it can reflect that this is the splendor of State University of Malang, "added the head of ULP UM when interviewed on Tuesday (26/11) yesterday.
