Gresik. In order to face the Industrial Revolution 4.0, State University of Malang (UM) is expanding its wings by trying to collaborate with parties who can support and increase the expertise / competence of its students. Together with PT Barata Indonesia (PTBI), which is one of the best SOEs in 2018 in the Non-Financial Sector Strategic Industry Sector in Gresik, East Java, UM has collaborated through the implementation of a certified student internship program.

The signing of the cooperation script was held on Tuesday, January 8, 2018 at the Gresik PTBI Multipurpose Building. Besides being attended by the Executive Director of the Indonesian Human Capital Forum (FHCI), the Head of the UK UM Bureau, Drs. Amin Sidiq, M.Pd., Head of Cooperation and Public Relations Division of UM Dra. Aminarti S Wahyuni, Cooperation Staff of UM Intan Kafitasari, SS was also attended by representatives of Undip, Unmul, Unisma, Poliwangi, Polimed, PEM AKA MIGAS, AKSI. FHCI itself is a forum that accommodates managers and practitioners of human capital management within BUMN.

This certified apprenticeship program is expected to provide opportunities for students to channel their potential and explore experiences in BUMN, said Sofyan Rohidi, Executive Director of FHCI.

“This program is a form of FHCI's commitment to become a learning forum to produce Indonesian Human Capital that is globally competitive and open to universities in Indonesia. We hope that through this cooperation UM students will get the opportunity to do internships at PTBI in all regions of Indonesia, "he hoped.

Meanwhile, Head of UK UM Bureau Drs. Amin Sidiq explained the cooperation scheme that had been agreed by both parties. "The form of cooperation agreed between UM and PTBI is to send four UM Engineering Faculty students to carry out internships at PTBI starting in January 2019 for 6 (six) months. At the end of the internship, students will get certificates from FHCI and PTBI which are recognized by all BUMN in Indonesia as proof of the competence of a diploma companion, "he concluded.

Apart from conducting the MoU, all UM representatives and other invitees had the opportunity to visit and see first hand the production activities at PT Barata Indonesia at the end of the activity.
