State University of Malang (UM) Education Museum

UM is a university within the Ministry of Education and Culture under the guidance of the Directorate General of Higher Education which is located in Malang City and Blitar City, East Java Province.

UM comes from:

  1. College of Teacher Education (PTPG) Malang which was founded on September 1, 1954 with the Decree of the Minister of Education, Teaching and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 33756 / Kb dated August 4, 1954 which was opened and inaugurated on October 18, 1954;
  2. Terhitung mulai tanggal 20 November 1957 menjadi Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan (FKIP) Malang pada Universitas Airlangga Surabaja dengan Surat Putusan Menteri Pendidikan Pengadjaran dan Kebudajaan Republik Indonesia Nomor 119533/S tanggal 20 November 1957;
  3. Terhitung mulai tanggal 1 Mei 1963 menjadi Institut Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan (IKIP) Malang dengan Keputusan Menteri Perguruan Tinggi dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Nomor 55 Tahun 1963 tanggal 22 Mei 1963; dan
  4. Terhitung mulai tanggal 4 Agustus 1999 menjadi Universitas Negeri Malang dengan Keputusan Presiden Republik Indonesia Nomor 93 Tahun 1999 tanggal 4 Agustus 1999.

Important Milestones

  • 1967: The English Language Study Program is rated the best in Southeast Asia (by The Ford Foundation)
  • 1967: Declared as one of the 10 Supervisory Universities in Indonesia
  • 1998–2010: Pemenang program JICA DUE-Like TPSDP Semi-QUE I-MHERE INHERENT SP4 PHK A1 & A2 Hibah Kemitraan Hibah Peralatan PGSD-A PHK-I dan PHK-TIK PHK DIA Bermutu
  • 2008: Opened the Faculty of Sport Science (FIK)
  • 2008: MUs are designated as Government Agencies implementing Public Service Agency (BLU) Financial Management
  • 2009: Opened the Faculty of Social Sciences (FIS)
  • 2012: Opened the Faculty of Psychology Education (FPPsi)
  • 2021: Perubahan status perguruan tinggi UM sebagai PTN-BLU menjadi PTN-BH, Perubahan Fakultas Ekonomi (FE) menjadi Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis (FEB), Perubahan Fakultas Pendidikan Psikologi (FPPsi) menjadi Fakultas Psikologi (FPsi)
  • 2023: Membuka Fakultas Vokasi (FV)
  • 2023: Membuka Fakultas Kedokteran (FK)
