Ilyas Rachman Ryandhani
Student of UM Sports Coaching Education Study Program

Poor. The results will not betray effort. Perhaps this sentence is suitable for Ilyas Rachman Ryandhani. At a relatively young age, this UM Sports Coaching Study Program student has earned at least 80 awards from elementary school to vocational high school. Even most recently, he won three world championships at the event 5th World Deaf Youth Badminton Championship Taiwan 2019 in the men's singles, men's doubles and mixed doubles. This is what led him to become one of the international badminton athletes.

However, he did not get this extraordinary achievement as easily as turning a hand. She had been on steep roads since she was a child. The limitation of carrying the deaf did not discourage him, in fact it became his own passion for him. Many influential people behind their success, the main thing is the support and prayers from their parents. Andriyani Trilestari Dani's mother recounts that her son's hidden talent began to emerge when he was invited to see his older brother Exercise. "Instead of just playing around, I invited him to watch his brother, in fact the coach said that he seems to be interested in training since then at the age of five and a half I took part in training too" he said.

Dani's mother learned that Dani had special needs when her son was 20 months old. It took time to accept sincerely and understand the condition of his youngest son. For him, all children have their own talents, whether they appear on their own or emerge after being sharpened. "For that, do not ever hide our children, especially children with special needs, from all the activities that can be done by general children, because even children with special needs can" he said.

Until now, Dani has been pursuing badminton for 14 years. Even so, to UM's Public Relations Internship, the man who was born in Karawang, May 14, 2001, said that he still had many things he wanted to achieve in the future. "I am grateful to be in the current position, but because there are some achievements that have not been achieved, I will keep trying again considering my young age I still have to seek a wider experience," he said. Until now, he is listed as an athlete at the District, Provincial Training Center, and several preparations for his international.

Regarding his college activities during this pandemic, he said that he could still do his job optimally even though he encountered a little difficulty at the time Zoom or Google Meet thus needing help with translation from someone at home. To UM students, he advised to stay focused and concentrate on studying even in this pandemic era. "Do not ever be careless, because time will not be repeated, take advantage of youth with positive things, so that our thoughts are also positive to get maximum results" he said.
