Members of the UM Senate at the opening of the 101st Graduation Ceremony

Poor- Held at Graha Cakrawala, the 101st Graduation Ceremony of State University of Malang (UM) was lively. The graduation which started at 08.00 WIB was attended by UM Chancellors, Senate Chairmen, all senate members, alumni association heads, structural officials, lecturers and education staff, all student functionaries, as well as all invitees, and graduates and their families. The event was opened by the Chairman of the Senate of UM Prof. Dr. H. Suko Wiyono, SH, M. Hum. and continued with the graduation report submitted by Prof. Dr. Budi Eko Soetjipto, M.Ed, M.Si. as Deputy Rector I UM, (08/02).

The 101st Graduation Ceremony was attended by 1,255 graduates, consisting of 50 Doctoral Education programs; 162 people from the Master of Education program; 7 people from Non-Educational Masters programs; 567 people from the Bachelor of Education program; 382 non-educational undergraduate programs; 19 people from Non-Educational Diploma III programs, and 68 people from the Teacher Professional Education (PPG) program. With the increase in graduates through the 101st Graduation, UM has successfully graduated 133,379 people, consisting of 1,825 Doctoral programs; 9,918 people from Master program; 84,126 people from undergraduate programs; 16,999 people from Diploma III programs; 1,696 people for the PPG program; and 18,815 people from Non Degree program.

From the number of graduates, 4 (four) people successfully graduated with the best achievement in university level academics, namely graduates with the highest GPA and length of study on time at a certain level of education. The four students are Rofita A'yunina, A.Md. with a GPA of 3.54, 6 semesters of study program Diploma III in Fashion Design, Faculty of Engineering, Judiciary with Praise. Hasan Argadinata, S.Pd. with a GPA of 3.92, 7 semesters of study; Educational Administration Undergraduate Study Program, Faculty of Education; Judicium With Praise. Fashihah, M.Pd. with a GPA of 3.81, 3 semesters, Master of Mathematics Education Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Judiciary with Praise. Dr. Tuti Mutia with a GPA of 3.98, 7 semesters of study, Doctor of Geography Education, Faculty of Social Sciences, Judiciary with Praise. Meanwhile, the graduates with the best achievement in the non-academic field at the university level were: Deni Ainur Rokhim, S.Pd. Bachelor of Chemistry Education Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA).

In the Chancellor's speech, Prof. Dr. AH. Rofi'uddin, M.Pd. conveyed to the graduates to get ready to step on to independence and set new life outside the campus, both in the realm of family, profession, society, as well as the state and nation. He also said that the challenges that will be faced are different from those faced by previous generations, because now is the era of industrial revolution 4.0. "Fellow graduates, as part of generation Z, no longer depend enough on old literacy which only relies on reading, writing and arithmetic, but also must develop new literacy, such as: Data Literacy, Technology Literacy, and Human Literacy. These three new literacies absolutely must be mastered by all UM graduates, "he said.
