Poor. Keeping Tradition, Bernas Innovation, Lambangkan Achievement are the themes raised by the State University of Malang (UM) in the framework of Lustrum XIII and 65th Anniversary. This theme means carrying the highest achievement spirit, which is rooted in and based on caring for good and relevant traditional heritage, accompanied by a sensitivity to present renewal innovations as a form of response to the dynamics and challenges of the times.

The highlight of the Lustrum XIII and 65th Anniversary events took place at Graha Cakrawala on Thursday (17/10). In his speech, UM Rector conveyed the role and contribution of UM as Teacher Training Education Institution (LPTK), "UM in responding to the need to increase the nation's competitiveness, it must also be accelerated continuously. The acceleration referred to includes all aspects and functions of higher education, which includes: (1) education and learning; (2) research and scientific development; (3) in the field of community service, and (4) in the field of strengthening institutional governance, "he said.

In the course of implementing the Tridharma of Higher Education, UM has resulted in many proud progress and achievements. This refers to the 4 (four) strategic missions set out in the 2019-2024 UM Strategic Plan, including progress and achievements in the fields of: (1) education, (2) research, (3) community service, and (4) institutional governance. .

In the field of education, UM has three choices of internal learning services, namely: (1) learning services offline (2) learning services blended, and (3) learning services on line. The three of them are facilitated in the Learning Management System which is abbreviated as SIPEJAR. The external learning service is facilitated through Massive Open Online Course which is abbreviated as MOOC.

Rofiuddin continued, explaining the achievements in the field of education and learning, "UM has successfully implemented the following: (1) improving laboratory-based learning, developing research-based learning, and improving learning support media; (2) increasing the academic qualifications of lecturers; (3) improving the quality of lecturers and educational staff in providing academic and non-academic services; (4) developing curriculum relevance policies, and (5) increasing student involvement in participating in various competitions for innovative scientific works on the national, regional and international levels. " he explained.
